Functional “home” layout – rooms to arrange and a terrace

Edward HOME was designed based on the idea of a home on a child’s scale.

The two lower rooms can serve as themed playrooms, a kitchen, a shop, a workshop, or a quiet zone. One of them features polycarbonate sliding doors, which allow children to independently decide on the degree of opening and the character of the space. This solution enables the quick transformation of the interior from an open play zone into a more enclosed, intimate room for relaxation or role-playing.

The upper room provides an additional space for quiet play, observation, and rest.

The terrace on the upper floor creates a semi-open transitional zone between the interior and the surroundings, conducive to play in a natural rhythm. It allows for the arrangement of relaxation and creative play zones (set up a table with chairs, sun loungers, or poufs).

Such a layout allows children to smoothly transition between various forms of activity – from role-playing to quiet rest.

A space for role-playing and building relationships

Edward HOME primarily supports symbolic and social play, which plays a key role in a child’s development. The space of the playhouse is conducive to:

• playing family, house, and everyday situations,

• developing social and communication skills,

• building independence and a sense of agency,

• creating a safe place “just for themselves”.

It is a playground that allows children to recreate and process everyday experiences in a safe, familiar form.

Flexible interior arrangement

The interior of Edward HOME can be freely arranged, adapting the set to the age of the children and the character of the space. Possible furnishing elements include:

• a mud kitchen or a toy kitchen,

• tables, shelves, and chests,

• soft cushions and mattresses,

• drawing boards,

• sensory elements.

Thanks to this, Edward HOME can change its function over time and grow with the children.

The stable, modular structure ensures safety, durability, and weather resistance. The enclosed and semi-open elements create a sense of shelter while simultaneously allowing caregivers to freely observe the children.
